review 1: I liked this book. But I didn't love it. The characters we're well drawn and I was rooting for the main protagonists, despite the fact that none of them appeared to be particularly smart at times! Many of the protagonists we're also not at all clear-cut "good" guys. I think the story had the potential to go further and be purposefully shocking in the descriptions of the crimes, which would have added a greater element of danger. However the story stuck mainly to the court case which seemed peripheral to the crimes being investigated, which then was not resolved as such.
review 2: Brilliant as usual, kept me guessing what sort of turn this story would take, you could read this as a stand alone, however, Retribution is the book before this (which I had already re... moread), I would recommend reading Retribution first, as it sets up the complete story,characters etc.This story I must warn you is not for the feint hearted, bit gruesome in some way, but not as gruesome as Retribution. Good writer, will keep an eye on her future writing. less
