review 1: The line work alone makes this a marvel, but it is particularly fascinating for the little story of love and loss it relates, but it is especially fascinating for the way it complements and completes Congress of Animals, which was a bit of a puzzle plot-wise before. I think Fran works better as a stand-alone story, but anyone who can read both should, though I do not know if a particular order needs to be observed, as it is something of a mobius strip.
