review 1: I'm a huge fan of Jodi Thomas' old west books. I love her cowboys but this is the first contemporary I've read by her. It was fabulous! Her characters are so real they almost leap off the page. I love that she gives so much of not just the main characters, but ones that could easily get lost in the background without the details she writes. The love story between Pepper Malone and Mike McCullough is very well written and very well played out. Wonderful book!
review 2: I really enjoyed this book. Not one of my favorites but a good read. I loved how a piece of my favorite book was inserted into this one. I would have liked to know more about the history of this town and a little more about what happened to Pepper before she went there. I've always enjoyed the his... moretory in Jodi Thomas's books. She definatley goes the extra mile with the makeup of the characters and the places they are from. Love the history she writes in these books. For me that's what makes them so great. less
