review 1: I recommend people to read this book because, me as a competitive swimmer, I really liked it and it is really a mystery about what happened at the Olympics. But one thing I didn't like about this book. At the end, I think that John Fienstien could've wrote a little more about what happened. Not to be a spoiler but the book was basically about a girl achieving some goals. For those who are non swimmers and haven't read this book, you should read this book to know how swimming is competitive. That's why I recommend people to read this book. - Isabella
review 2: In the book Rush for Golf by John Feinstein, Susan Carol Anderson shows love. She shows the love for swimming, by not asking for fame or money.
... more I realized sports are better when you play for the love of that sport and have fun. The author’s message was to tell you agents and contracts make sports worse. This book takes place in Charlotte, North Carolina, in a swimming arena. Next the book went to Omaha, Colorado for the Olympic swim trials. The last place the book goes is to London, England for the Olympic Games of 2012. The book takes place in 2012. The protagonist Susan Carol Anderson loves to swim, until agents ruin it for her. Her agents let here swim but they get way to involved. They don’t let her be with friends. They also try to get her a new coach. Susan Carol really gets really mad when her father agrees with the agents. The plot of this book is a nice sports story with a little bit of mystery when they get suspicious of some deals with her agents and another swimmer. In the 2012 Olympics part in the book a lot of drama happens. During the Gold Medal race one of the judges calls Susan Carols friend who won the race for an illegal turn and she is disqualified. Susan Carol knows she didn’t do an illegal turn and she tries her hardest to make things right. I really liked this part of the book because it had sports, and mystery to it, it also had information on what goes on behind the scenes in the Olympics (like a lot of other parts in the book). Overall this book was very enjoyable and I liked it a lot. I found a lot of entertainment in it because I love sports and the Olympics; which the book told me about. I learned something really greatin this book. I learned that agents and contracts sound great but they really make sports worse for a lot of people. I would tell my close friend this was a really good book, even though it was about a sport I don’t have any interest in I still really enjoyed it. A weakness was sometimes the book would get slow, but it would always get fast again soon with a swim race. less
