review 1: Ok let me start by saying WOW! I wish growing up I had met a priest like the one in this short story. I call it a short story, but in reality it is a cut chapter. To fully understand the character in this, you would need to read End of the Innocence; although that is not necessary to understand the meaning of it. It hit close to home on topic's that are being debated right now in the media. I read it out loud to my kids; because I felt it was something they should know and hopefully pass on to other kids. Note to the author... this really should have been left in the book. It explains where a kid that as far as we know didn't go to church would be able to quote the bible. However it was very well written and I hope that those who read it take the time to really hear what ... moreits saying; I would very much recommend it for any age. We are never too old to learn, and this, if nothing else, will teach you to not believe what others interpretation of something is. Go out and find your own evidence, don't be lead blindly into a false belief.
review 2: Kyle Stilleno, one of the characters of the town of Foster Texas is a man on a mission. He wants to debate the bible. He chooses a priest as his counterpart, but is quite surprised when the priest gives him much more than he's looking for.This is an interesting story that takes place during one of the other books, End of the Innocence. It was supposed to be part of that story, but it didn't fit. Still, it was an important bit, so the author released it as a standalone story. I think it's a great part of the Foster series and I'm glad he did it. less
