Tales from Foster High
review 1: To be honest, I started reading this series with not much interest. I mean, yeah, this is another story about a shy, lonely, gay kid who ends with the most famous boy in the school and then, they has to face their coming out and all that. So I thought, yeah, this book will be OK, but no think more.Well, I was wrong. I love the whole series. Not only did I love the plot, which ended being an amazing story about Foster and its "coming out", but the writing style was amazing as well. I think I have never laughed this much reading a book, and at the same time, have cried as a little boy (and I assure you I don't cry easily). There's only two things I want to know. First, I would like to know more about Jeremy. It's clear he has a lot of demons, so I think that males him perfect... more for another book. And the second want, what's the deal with Josh? I mean, rimming? Seriously? XDSo, yeah, I have ended loving these books and these people. I'm looking forward to reading more about them. And about you, John, please, keep writing like this, because it's amazing the way you tell stories. And of course, thanks for sharing all this with us.
review 2: Mr. Goode, do you know how many tears I lost reading your books? I hope there's another one after this. I want to see how Kyle and Brad's life after they left Foster. Did they finish college? Did they end up togrether though I have no doubt they will. This book screams REALITY. Yes it should be capitalized. The harshness of life, the stupidity and close-mindedness of sone people and the unfairness of the treatment of those we think are different from how we define normal. The way the characters had evolved and awakened from all the things that happened. Sadly it took Kellys life and Jeremys "shooting" for them to realize that its ok to be different, that being gay is not an abomination and that labels are just...labels. We're human beings nit some things on the grocery stores or malls that need a damn label. Damn it I pity those people like Tony's father, Mr. Raymond and the driver who killed Riley. I've never felt strong emotions while reading a book but this series had made me a angry, happy, frustated to the poibt I want to smack down the author. I cried and laugh. I became labile. I think I'm entitled to become crazy just because I finished this book.I will never forget Foster High, it will be forever in my heart. Its not a review, ha, its a monologue. less
