review 1: Six bombs later, the bomber is identified but in true Sandford fashion, we all think it is someone different. Another fun Virgil Flowers crime story that keeps you guessing. This time in the town of Butternut Falls, the local townspeople try to stop Pye from building a superstore. Lots of townsfolk with motives. One bomb after another and still a cold trail. A bomb at Pye headquarters in Grand Rapids Michigan raises more questions. One bomber or two? Inside job? Virgil's boat is blown up and he's quite upset about someone trying to take him out. He decides to use an unconventional written survey with the locals to try to narrow down the field and find the bomber. That gets him into all sorts of trouble, as usual. Oh that F----in' Flowers. What a chara... morecter!
review 2: I should probably give this less stars, but, you see, I'm in love with that F******* Virgil Flowers. Sandford has managed to create, and the narrator, Eric Conger has been complicit in, dealing up a main character who manages to disarm me as much as he does the people he comes across in the course of his investigations. Did I know who the bad guy was? Did I care? No. I was just along for the ride, curious about what band tee shirt Virgil was wearing that day, what questions he has for God, and will he ever manage to go fishing?Sigh. less

I enjoyed it, but this one got a bit long. Will definitely continue the series.
