review 1: Fun, frothy romance full of wit and charm. So many romances are full of angst and life-on-the-line experiences that it's occasionally fun to read something delightfully humorous and light--although there is some danger near the end. Sir Harry Valentine and Lady Olivia are charming leads who engage in a window-to-window romance full of banter and some slapstick humor. If you are looking for something to make you smile and occasionally laugh out loud, this will serve.
review 2: It was much ado about nothing, that fits since there are a few Shakespeare references. Harry has a horrible childhood with an indifferent mother and alcoholic father. He leaves home to join the military with his favorite cousin Sebastian. Years later, Harry moves to London to continue his ... morework as a translator for the War Office.His house is next door to the Rutland London house. Olivia lives there, a beautiful miss on the marriage market who doesn't suffer fools gladly. Her giggling girlfriends tell her Harry killed her fiance. She starts to spy on him in his home office from her upstairs bedroom window. He of course knows it.Besides Harry and Olivia we have a Russian Prince and a younger brother trying to follow in the alcoholic father's footsteps. The story has no real point except to get the hero and heroine together. I think I might have preferred reading the Miss Butterworth novel endlessly cited. less
