review 1: At first, I liked the charm of the setting and the friendships between the people in the village. After I read further, with the prince coming to the village and giving the two young girls a chance to study at the university, the story picked up on an adventure. This adventure goes in a very unexpected way when she takes a ship and a storm tosses her overboard. She meets someone who will change her life. Once she reaches the city, she tries to meet with the prince again to get more papers that would allow her to enter the university. While in the castle, she is met by even more unexpected turns. A fun book to read, enjoyable. I am eager to read the next book. This book had the same feel as Eragon.

... moreone would enjoy reading. The story has some twists and turns that I wasn't expecting. I also liked the fact that this story was unique, based on old middle eastern mythology. Although I did guess a few of the twists, it was still an enjoyable read and fun to see the story play out. I really liked the characters and almost wish the author would continue the story. She definitely left room for a sequel. less
