review 1: In a small school for girls in Victorian England, the hated headmistress and her odious brother die suddenly over dinner. What shall the 7 girls do but work together to hide the deaths so they can stay together, of course. Madcap shenanigans ensue, as they slowly realize that the killer is still out there...and will want to try to try again. What child has never fantasized about living without grownups around to boss them around?
review 2: This is a fun romp and made me chuckle in several places. The improbability of some of the things that happen stretches my suspension of disbelief, but Berry did a good job keeping her characters true (and there are a lot of them!) and telling the story. It does get perhaps a little too convoluted and the ending is a little t
... moreoo tidy. Still, it reminds me just a bit of "Arsenic and Old Lace," and I don't regret having read it. less

An enjoyable mystery with great historical detail! Would love a continuation with the sisterhood.

Liked this short read. Has a bit of the Lemony Snicket tone to it. Worth checking out.
