review 1: Another great read of the series: the adventure continues with Emily in the title role but we are also introduced to a potentially interesting character: Mila, who I suspect is the one in the title role of Book 4. In fact she was first highlighted in the previous novella, discovered by Jack Dandy. I already like her a lot.Romance-wise, we see Finley pairing up with Griffin (finally, without the distraction of Jack Dandy muddying the stew) while Emily and Sam have reached the "I love you" declaration part. And we can also kinda predict who Jack might end up with.Just one quotable quote:" 'You're not a distraction, you're a bloody obsession.' Oh. Those words might have been said harshly, but they tied her insides up in joyful knots. What was the correct response? Thank you ... morefelt a bit weak. Throwing herself into his arms and kissing him until his lips were chapped seemed a bit excessive. "
review 2: This is a solid followup to the first two books in this series. Steampunk Victorian techno magic, style & a fast moving story. If you read the first two, you won't be disappointed, although, the romance aspects seem a little forced in places. Here is hoping that the next novel expands the story in a way that also expands the world and our understanding of it. For some reason, even though I enjoyed this, I dread the next one at the same time that I can't wait. I feel like it could go bad so quickly. less

The steampunk science was fun, but the romance was way too mushy. Probably just right for teenagers.

I didn't like this one as much as the last one.
