review 1: Loved it, as i have not read any other Steampunk novels/novellas i dont have anything to compare it too, BUT i very much enjoyed Finley and the setting of the book. I have so many questions, where did Finley's abilities come from, and the almighty question WHAT IS FINLEY JAYNE????I hope the Girl in the Steel Corset is as good or better then this. Kady Cross hit a homerun with this story....here's to hoping for more just like it.
review 2: I've been wanting to get into steampunk novels and I thought this was a really good start. I really appreciated the fact that Finley was able to protect herself and others by using her skills unlike a lot of YA heroines. This also made me anxious to read The Girl in the Steel Corset to find out how Finley's job interview with
... moreLady Augustus-Raynes and find out exactly why she is able to jump from a second story window without getting hurt. Overall, a good novella and a great steampunk book. less

A great prequel, my only complaint was that I'm sure dresses could be in colours other than plum :)
