review 1: I absolutely loved this book, especially due to the fact that it began differently than any other Christian romance novel I have read. Author Witemeyer did a great job of building a plot not only around a possible romance, but also of the possibility of an unsaved sinner being convicted and coming to know the Lord. While romance novels are not my favorite, I do enjoy Christian historical fiction, especially when well written. Thanks for another great read, Ms. Witemeyer, and I look forward to reading more of your novels.
review 2: The author rounds out her story with a lot of background and color that fits time and place. The characters are usually believable. But some situations not so much. I couldn't believe that Silas "accidentally" shot Jackson. Of course,... more once you accept the premise that a preacher could be "stolen," the rest is most interesting. The author, Karen Witemeyer, handles grammar, dialogue and interaction of characters very well. less
