review 1: A sociopathic nurse is the main character in this Karin Fossum novel, a dark story that relies more on menacing atmosphere than on graphic descriptions of criminal activity. I always enjoy how this author insightfully explores the less desirable aspects of human nature. There are some elements of elder abuse involved in the telling, but this is primarily a relatively low-key study about the psycho who might be living next door to any reader.
