review 1: Set in Phoenix, Los Angeles, and Mexico, this story was pretty adventurous from the start. Lark Delaney & Devlin Raines, an ex-military man who runs a successful security enterprise. Sparks fly immediately (of course), but both try to deny the growing attraction (usual scenario for this series)until danger is thrown into the mix when they find the little girl (who was adopted on the black market to a drug smuggler). Definitely worth the read
review 2: Against the Law is the 3rd book in Kat Martin's Raines of Wind Canyon series. This story is Dev's, the youngest Raine. Dev is a "mostly retired" private investigator who is sent a client by an old Ranger buddy. Although he rarely takes cases any more, Dev owes his buddy and agrees to take Lark's case. Lark needs ... moreto find the daughter her recently deceased sister gave up for adoption 4 years ago. What should have been a simple case turns into something much more dangerous, as illegal adoptions and Mexican drug cartels become involved. Kat Martin once again does a great job with this one...there's a little bit of everything that I like - suspense, action, romance, and a healthy dose of pretty steamy scenes. Romantic suspense is one of my favourite genres, and Kat Martin is quickly becoming one of my go-to authors for this...glad she decided to continue with this series, looking forward to reading the rest.4 stars. less
