review 1: The three chapter format for these books works well! In this one, the first chapter is devoted to Gollie who believes she has royal ancestry and is, therefore, a queen. The second chapter features Bink who buys a contraption to make herself taller. The two meet in the middle, in the third chapter, when they both desire to be highlighted in a book that is much like THE GUINNESS BOOK OF WORLD RECORDS. Very humorous and delightful!
review 2: I picked up this series of three books (Bink &Gollie, Bink & Gollie: two for one, Bink & Gollie: best friends forever) after reading Gina's rave review. I was wondering whether they would be something I could read to my 3.5 year old daughter and was pleased to find that, although I suspect some of it goes over her head, she l... moreoves them. I love the artwork - the drawings are primarily black and white with the characters in color and other splashes of color to draw your attention to specific things. The writing is often funny and often moving. My favorite story (each book has three shorter stories) is in Bink & Gollie: two for one and involves a talent show, stage fright, and friendship at its sweetest and truest. These are great books and I hope there will be more! less
