review 1: Continuing the tales of Magicals Anonymous. Did you wonder where those mysterious thrown shoes came from? And the dead are about to rise in the streets of London? AND the Midnight Mayor has disappeared, leaving Sharon as astonished LOCUM TENENS. Can she save the City with the aid of an allergic druid, a hypochondriac vampire, a banshee, a troll and Sammy the Elbow (second-greatest shaman of all time, and don't you forget it!) Of course they can. On the way, we have more exploration of how URBAN magic would work.
review 2: Lovely, lovely, lovely. 4.5 really, but maybe I'm just on a high from finishing it not one minute ago. Combines what I felt were the best elements of the Matthew Swift books with those from the first Sharon Li book in this series. ( gosh I ... morehope it's a series.). So much fun to see how Sharon disarms some of the toughest people Matthew ever dealt with, just by being her polite and politically correct self. There are three interconnected mysteries to be solved, a good solid epic battle, and the evolution of Matthew's marvelous P.A. Kelly. Great read. Will make whatever I read next seem a bit thin I'm afraid. less
