The protagonist Connie cannot remember the first 12 years of her life; a mysterious note arrives and men are going misising. With vivid descriptions Mosse brings a n empathy to the characters at the centre of the story. The era is perfectly captured and the book is full of intrigue A must read gothic thriller.
review 2: I was lucky enough to get a copy of this a week before it's release date in order to write a review. A great story, told very well & very descriptive - making it easy to imagine the characters & the surroundings they find themselves in. As the story began to unfold, I found it hard to put the book down as I was eager to discover the t... moreruth of Connie's past. The book took a macabre turn - not what I was expecting!
