review 1: This is the second book of this series which I think completes it. I really enjoyed the first book and feel the same about this one. This author does an excellent job of weaving a good story and tell of an historical event. I feel that she does her research well. What is of particular importance is that at the end of the book she provides an historical note that tells what has become of the historical characters and tells which characters are of her imagination. I cannot wait to read her series about ancient Rome. Very good.

As I was a total novice to t... morehe Borgias Family era I was really surprised to find out that so much true events were contained in this history fiction novel. The Lion and The Rose for me had couple of truly touching moments and big surprises, and twists and turns, loved the characters- those lovable and not so lovable and therefore this is yet another my very favourite book of Kate Quinn. less
