review 1: This was a fun book, and worth the read, although it did get a bit over-drawn about 2/3 of the way through. Starting out with the protagonist hitting his head and bleeding on the bathroom floor certainly grabbed my interest. The whole thing is not a flashback, as you might expect, but more the 7 former lovers from past lives you might meet in heaven kind of thing. The ending was, regretfully, kind of expected, so a bit of a let-down, but the author's style and periodic insertion of popular culture was nice. Light entertainment, but worthwhile.
review 2: Here is another clever read to enjoy this summer with! Centuries Of June is a slash fantasy/dramatic and comedic novel all wrapped into one. It flows along with vignettes of different tales that tie together wit... moreh the one central character who spends most of the book in a state of confusion. Come on, a book mostly set in a bathroom, you have to love the audacity in that and Keith Donohue pulls it off. A definite winner! less
