She's feeling down, her marriage to her ex-husband Frank was never happy, her life is far from perfect. She wished Jackson had not had to work this evening. But then quite unexpectedly Jackson arrives home just before midnight. On the first stroke of the clock welcoming in the new year. Clara gives Jackson a kiss for luck... more. But Jackson doesn't think much to Clara's quick peck, and decides to give her a really lucky kiss.Love this authors work, and this short story does not disappoint, Jackson is a really hot and gorgeous firefighter. But more than that he's a nice guy. Clara lacks self confidence, after constantly being told by her ex that she was unattractive and cold. But that all changes as Jackson certainly warms her up. Well written with hot and passionate love scenes. This short story is a winner.
review 2: Short but good story where best friends become lovers and have a Happily Ever After!Clara has a lot on her plate. She's a doctor and work is crazy & she's trying to rebuild her self-esteem after a divorce from her cheating ex-husband. Thank goodness for her best friend, the hunky EMT , Jackson , who is letting Clara stay at his apartment in the meantime.To celebrate New Years, Clara gives Jackson a kiss "for luck" and it turns into so much more - as Clara discovers that Jackson has been secretly in love with her for years - and NOT just as friends. They spend a passionate night together where they both confess their feelings for each other and find that one kiss is not enough for either of them. less
