review 1: Clink is an older robot that lives in a toy store. While his new robot friends can do everything from playing baseball to baking cookies, Clink can only play music and make toast. Kids keep buying the newer robots and taking them home with them, finally Clink just gives up and shuts down. After a good while, a boy comes in and while he is there, he starts playing music. When Clink hears him, he tries again to find a friend to take him home. This book is very heart warming.

... moren one of the Chicken Soup for the Soul books (I think it was the very first one actually) where the little boy goes to the pet store and one of the puppies has some sort of deformity and the pet store owner says, "Oh no, you don't want that one. He'll never be able to run and play fetch with you," and then the boy lifts up his pant leg to show that he too is deformed and says, "That's OK. He knows what it feels like." less

Art looks straight out of "Jimmy Neutron". Nice enough story for kids into robots.

Boy makes lonely, obsolete robot feel wanted. Colorful, cheerful, familiar story.
