review 1: ❤❤❤❤♡After finishing this book, I hesitated between 4 and 3 and a half stars, as a rating. Don't get me wrong, it's not that it wasn't good. It's just that the story was too short : before I knew it, it was already the end.Notwithstanding its briefness, the story was really good. The author managed to immerse me into this futuristic world, with its intricate plots and peculiarities. Some would say that this kind of speculative fiction has already been done, and they're right. But, what's different about this story is that it combines science fiction with paranormal (presence of vampires). As for the characters, I would've liked to explore them more. We're told a little bit about their history together, but not very much. The glimpses I saw weren't enough. In my op... moreinion, the author privileged the plot and the action over the characters, like a good action movie.
review 2: So I'm an absolute sucker for dystopian (not saying this fits the bill, just that it gives me that other-worldly type of vibe that I love) type of books and the world that they tend to create and for that, I so loved this one.I found myself wishing there was more, though. I wanted to know more about the intricacies of this society, the underground movement that was occurring. Guess I'll just have to read the sequel ;) less
