review 1: This was an interesting, engaging read. I liked the dynamics of Spencer and Nick's arrangement. It was nice to experience Spencer's first experience paying for sex. Both Spencer and Nick felt real to me. The BDSM wasn't too hardcore here so that was nice. Not sure what the future of their relationship will be. How does one dating a working prostitute? Time will tell. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
review 2: What a sexy, SEXY book this was! I enjoyed this one immensely! I didn’t realize at the start that this was an interracial story, and if I had known I might not have read it, and honestly I would have missed out on something really good! Generally speaking I don’t read interracial stories, only because it doesn’t do anything for me roma
... morentically, but this was SO well written, I was drawn in despite my initial surprise. Spencer is a wonderful character, and reading his reaction at the beginning when he first goes into the MG, watching him fall for the first ‘whore’ he met and experiencing him negotiating his time was all fascinating to me. Nick was a younger man; it was a bit hard to get a bead on him descriptively, though I think the authors do this on purpose. I don’t ever even remember reading how old each of them were and I think that was downplayed on purpose. The two hit it off right off the back, and the initial scenes between them in the bedroom were scorching! Though not a masochist myself, I still found the pleasure-pain scenes to be beautifully written and very sexy. Nick is a Dom with a brain, which really made for some intense moments between the two!Probably one of my favorite parts though, was after the night together, and the following week, when Spencer is working, he pictures Nick in his office, getting stern when Spencer drifts off or doesn’t focus, feeling the specter of Nick in the room, sort of an invisible presence that dominated his thoughts and daydreams. I thought this was just lovely and very realistic. These authors are blowing me out of the water with this series, each gets sexier than the last, and longer too, to my delight. They write hard scenes and don’t shy away from the tough conversations and decisions. I am absolutely enjoying this collaborative effort and can’t wait to read the next book. I love how (so far) we get two books for each couple, the first book in one characters POV, in the next book it’s the other ones, which gives a very nice balance. Can’t recommend this series highly enough! less
