review 1: In book 2 of this series, murder strikes again in the town of Heavenly. Roy Karble, a toy manufacturer, plans to produce a line of basic toys by the Amish workers which would be a boon to the Amish families and the town. But word spreads that Karble's company will not use the Amish workers after all and no one is surprised when Roy Karble is found murdered. Suspicion falls on Police Chief Jakob Fischer's foster brother Isaac. Claire finds time to investigate the crime while trying to decide how she feels about both Benjamin, the Amish widower, and Police Chief Fischer. I was truly surprised by the identity of the killer although I wondered about the character's motives earlier in the book.
review 2: "English" shopkeeper Claire is torn between the handsome widow... moreed Amish farmer and the excommunicated (former Amish) policeman, but when a guest at her aunt's inn is murdered at the local food festival, she feels she must help investigate. Nothing against them, but I've never bought into the romantic view of the Amish that you get in these quasi-romance, quasi-mystery books. By the way, the title doesn't have anything much to do with the plot. less
