review 1: I really liked this book. It was a great book about friendship. I was surprised that after the baby was born it really glossed over how difficult a newborn is. I appreciated that the character, Katie, was a pretty good representation of a "Mormon" (member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) without being preachy. There were two parts of that character/storyline that didn't ring true to me, as a "Mormon": 1. Her asking Ethan to convert. 2. Her wedding being held in the backyard so her friends could attend. But those weren't deal breakers for me.
review 2: I found most of the characters in this book to be unlikable in a way that made finishing it a chore. I'm all for unsympathetic characters, but there just wasn't enough here to enjoy. The narrato
... morer was somewhat agreeable though I felt she was to generous in forgiving outrageously awful behavior by other characters. The ending was also deeply unsatisfying and ambiguous. I felt the characters' lives were only going to get worse, and I was seriously worried about the baby's future. The writing is skillful enough, so it has that going for it. less

Nice Book. Fast read, slightly melodramatic. But interesting insights.
