review 1: Another great Swedish mystery that combines espionage, murder, and political overtures. Two old cases are re-evaluated. One is a terrorist attack against the German Embassy in the 1970s. The other is an unsolved murder from the late 1980s. A small group of dedicated detectives focus their efforts on investigating and solving the cases. Their work is complicated by incompetent, corrupt policemen and the upheaval caused by the end of the Cold War.
review 2: A Swedish author who makes me think of"The Girl With.... "Stieg Larsson's books. A well written book with a depiction of politics, police work, upper class life in Sweden. It appears that Swedes think of their politicians and police much the sme way Americans do. The story is spread out over a period o... moref 25 years [almost]and I had to go back and skim over the beginning to refresh my memory. The Swedish anmes are a bit of a challenge. however there was a detective named Linda Martinez. She made it seem like home. less

If you like Swedish Noir this is not a book/writer you want to miss. Outstanding.
