review 1: Leigh Bardugo has a way with words. Especially her short stories. She has clearly mastered the art and flaunts it so boldly. I loved The Too Clever Fox and I have really enjoyed myself reading The Witch of Duva. Leigh is king at plotting in tangents. The ending is never really what you expect. Her stories have a morbid darkness about them but you find yourself enjoying them all the same. I shall definitely be looking out for more short stories of hers. She's gifted in those
review 2: This short story is sort of a prologue to the "Grisha" trilogy by Leigh Bardugo. A young girl in a small Russian village fears that she is being attacked by evil runs off. She ends up hiding out in the home of a witch. Eventually, she learns that her fears were misplaced,
... more and nothing was as she had believed it to be. All in all, a nicely written story with a moral, although a bit dark for my taste, and not particularly compelling. It is difficult to make any decisions about the trilogy from this story since there is no "rule" that a prologue must in some way be immediately related to the actual story but it was good enough to encourage reading the trilogy, although not good enough to move the trilogy to the top of my "To Read" list. less

Well, that was a nice, haunting folk tale! Definitely grim but interesting all the same!
