review 1: Gardner delivers again. Her complex plot kept me going and the ending was a surprise. She keeps you going as the chapters move between Tessa's and DDs stories. They come together in the end and he outcomes are satisfactory. Throughout the story I kept wondering is Tessa guilty or not, was she telling the truth about the man in the black? Is Sophie alive? Will DD resolve her personal dilemma? Who else is involved? Who else isn't who they seem? If you've read enough of Gardner' s stories you know the answer to some of these. The pieces of the puzzle come together slowly with some unexpected twists.
