Detective D.D. Warren
review 1: Another really intriguing thriller. This book is written from the point of view of three main characters, each one doling out little pieces of the puzzle to solve the mystery. When Sandra Jones disappears in the middle of the night, the police assume her husband has killed her. And Jason Jones certainly has something to hide. Tantalizing clues are doled out throughout this novel. I spent a lot of time trying to piece together the pieces, with no luck. Another very well written mystery.
review 2: This is an okay story as detective novels go. Gardner is a sharp and sassy writer, weaves good characters, and a strong plot; I can admire her style of writing. The child Ree was unbelievably articulate for a 4-year-old. I didn't much like Jason at all. DD the detective
... more was adequate but didn't thrill me. This story just didn't grab me, but I will read more of Gardner's work. I read a library copy for this review. less
