When a man crashes into Cady's orphanage, she knows he has come for her. After moving into the Owner's apartment, above the Lost Luggage Emporium, she meets the Ashers, V, and the owner himself. As seacrets are unvealed, you will find your mind trying to wrap its self around the twisting and turning of the story. I recommend this story to kids 9 and up. Head to the nearest bookstore to buy this... more amazing title. Review by Frances Wharton, Haven Middle School Evanston, IL
review 2: A story told in multiple viewpoints that begins with Cady, an orphan, who has a Talent for baking cakes that perfectly complement their receivers. She's baked many a cake for the annual Adoption Day celebrations, but not one of her own yet. The story intricately weaves together characters searching for Talent and those stealing Talents, those who are lost with those who are seeking them, and everyone is brought together at the cake bake-off. The chapters are short and interspersed with recipes for Cady's delicious cakes. The conclusion is one that will keep readers guessing as tidbits are revealed in rapid succession all the way up to the happy ending. Recommended for grades 4-6. less
