review 1: It’s Raining CupcakesBy: Lisa SchroederReport by: Gracie SchlutzQ3#2Main idea:The book is about a girl who mom opens up a cupcake shop below their apartment that is trying to compete with the other shop in town but when her entry in the bake off turns out good her life might be a whole lot happier. Isabelle has always wanted to leave her town of willow, and winning the bake-off guarantees that!Summary:Pre-teen Isabelle has always had the urge to get out of the little town of willow, she has always thought there was better opportunities and being stuck in Willow, Oregon wasn’t going to get her anywhere. Isabelle’s mom prepares to open up a shop below their new apartment that was an old laundry mat that she plans on opening with the help of Isabelle and Isabelle’s gr... moreandmother. Isabelle has do deal with her moms constant struggles and huddles she has to jump to open the shop successfully. When Isabelle saw the advertisement for the NYC bake-off she instantly sparked an idea, she entered the bake-off with a chance of getting out of willow and more prizes! Drama comes along with the bake-off and also with the bakery…but if she can pull it off her life will be better than it ever has.Authors propose:I think the author’s propose in writing book was to entertain. I believe she was trying to entertain because it is entertaining to find out the life of Isabelle and her struggles and the book isn’t wrote in a informing or persuading way. The author’s point of view on the topic seems to be that she thinks that following dreams is important and that it is important no matter how bit or little they are. I think that the author’s point of view is to follow your dreams cause it can happen if you commit to them.3-2-1:3.from reading this book I have learned how to follow my dreams and I learned it isn’t impossible to outcome the odds. I also learned that working as a team gets stuff done and as a team you can accomplish more.2. Two questions I still have about this book are …how the bakery does after a few years into business? Does the cupcake shop beat out the brownies? 1.My opinion is that I think that this topic is very interesting and I think that it is fun to learn about people’s dreams cause you know it is something very important to that character. My reviewStar rating:I gave this book 5 out of five stars cause this book is a very good book about a girl chasing her dreams while juggling her mom’s bakery problems. I enjoyed reading this book because of the characters I really liked the characters cause they were really relatable. The most difficult thing about this book I would have to say would be understanding what is happening in her mom’s life and why she is so stressed cause it is hard knowing from the “mother point of view”, when most of use reading this have never been a mother! I would read another book about the same topic cause I think the bakery, cakes, cupcakes, and cookies are a fun topic even though they can made you hungry reading this, I think that frosting, confetti, and sprinkles bring a warm loveable feeling to your mind when you read it! I think girl that are pre-teens/early teens would like it especially if they are adventurous and love to bake. I think some girls in my class would like to read this, and important little warning that you might want to know before you read this is that…it might make you rage for cupcakes!
review 2: Summery- This book was amazing it was funny and interesting. This girl,Isabella has to move from her neighborhood because her mom is opening a cupcake shop in Willow Organ. She has a ton of mood swings and almost didn't open her cupcake shop. Everything was going great until a brownie shop was opening a few streets away from them. They did a bunch of interviews and her best friend Sofia made her mad. She went over to Lana her neighbor and makes a peace offering to her friend and Sofia wasn't mad at her anymore. She interned a cooking contest and since she was one of the finalist she got to go to New York. They had a fun time and her mom finally understood her. Characters- Isabella the cupcake queen, Lana the artist, Sofia the determined one, and Isabella's mom the one that gives up. Setting- Willow, Organ and New York in Time Square. Conflict- Her mom is going to open up a cupcake shop but gets frustrated and doesn't want to do it and once shes made up her mind theirs no turning back. Resolution to conflict- Her daughter, Isabella has her friend Lana paint a mural on the wall to boost her moms confidence. Main Idea- They try to open a cute little cupcake shop. I really liked this book and would recommend that you read this book to. less
