review 1: My last PCB was My Little Phony, written by Lisi Harrison. In the book, Claire wants to make her school a happier, and more uplifting environment, but Massie, (Claire's old friend), wants and likes the school, just the way it is, so Massie and Claire battle to the end, to try and achieve their goals. The books weaknesses, is that the plot, and story line, was very weak, compared to Lisi Harrison's other stories. The book had little intersting ideas, and didn't pull me in like other books of her's, or just other books in general. Some strengths that the book had, was strong vocabulary, and dialouge. You could almost feel like you were there with the character, as they sipped there carmel Starbucks latté, or when their dogs ran around each other, pulling and tugging on... more their leashes. The characters in the book, were believable. There is always this mean girl, who thinks she's better than everyone else, and there is always this other girl, who wants to be excepted, and say no to that mean girl. The author adequatley describes them well, by using dialouge, what they wear, how they act, and how popular they are. What I like about the author's writing style, is that her usage of vocabulary is so strong. From the smell of the foods, or the texture of clothing and such, you are always on the same page as her, and you always know what is going on exactly. Every time I read some part of her book(s), I instantly want to go write a story, because I have all these fresh, new vocabulary, and describing words to use. It just makes the writing pop so much more! This book wasn't one of my favorites of her's, or just in general, but I could still pick out, and find, the amazing describing techniques, and vocab that is always amidst of her writing.
review 2: The book My Little Phony was an awesome book that was one i had a hard time putting down! If you are interested in suspense, drama, and a good story then you should read this book.Claire and Massie are in a huge fight and are even competeing with eachother at school. Massie spreads a rumor at school that CLaire has Lice!! but its not even true so Claire gets revenge on Massie by putting gross bed bugs in Massie's bed. So the revolution began between them and things were getting bad. The suspense and drama in this book will leave you hanging.Genre: Suspense less
