review 1: I like dinosaur books on specific subtopics. This picture book on their relative sizes is well done, reads aloud well, and is appealingly illustrated. It would have been nice if, in addition to comparing them to modern animals, it bumped up the STEM value and included actual estimated dino measurements on the same page. Also, I am a children's librarian with a geology degree and even I stumbled on some of the dino names because the pronunciation wasn't included in the main part of the book. Recommended for ages 4-7.
review 2: This book would be great for the little students learning about dinosaurs but don’t quite understand the concept of size. It offers great illustrations in comparing dinosaurs with things from today such as the Microraptor with a rooste... morer or the Struthiomimus with a race horse. I paired this book with Galaxy Zack: The Prehistoric Planet by Ray O’Ryan. This book is about a boy and his dog that travel to another planet, which is inhabited by dinosaurs, to return a baby Pterosaurs to its mother. I think this make a great pair for students learning about dinosaurs to fuel their imagination of what it may have been like to live back then. less
