review 1: Ya, this book came out ages ago and has been sitting in my ipad for about just as long. So, there I was, on a cruise and I was hankering for some good cowboy lovin’…and of course I think to Lorelei James to give me a hot, sexy, dirty talking cowboy!Rory has been in tons of previous books, since her momma married the illegitimate McKay son, Gavin. Life has been hard for Rory, especially since she fell in love with Dalton when she was six and then became his best friend by the time she was 12 and then handed over her virginity to him at 16. None of that prepared her for his near miss of a marriage to one of her close friends or his complete disappearance for over three years. Now, with Rory back in town after University and Dalton “healed” after his walk about…t... morehis story was all about love. Finding old love, kindling new love, being true in love and showing love. I loved it!!! Dalton is the man. He left to become the man he wanted to be, not the one that his family and town expected him to be…and that man was owned by Rory and he set out to make her his. I loved that. I actually loved when he would mutter in the throws, “who owns you” and again, “you own me”. Meaning that he can’t have another, not when his heart, his body and his soul are Rory’s. I loved how she, inch by inch was won over by Dalton. Dalton convinced her that he had changed, that he was the only man she would ever need….and that she was the only woman for him. Period.Super big love for my Dalton…way to grow up and become your own man! 4 ½ stars…Enjoy!
review 2: 4,5 starsThere is no doubt about it, this series has changed through the years. Especially the last few books have had a different vibe. Where the earlier books were dirty sexy hot from page 1, the last few have showed more of a build-up towards the trade-mark "no holds barred" dirty, giving way to more family stuff and personal emotional struggles.This being said I did enjoy Rory and Dalton's story because while in the first part it didn't completely reach the mark in the explicit dirty department, once the sex made its way to the pages, it was explosive and trademark Rough Riders again. True to the other books in this series it was also a beautiful emotional story of two people growing up and finding themselves in the midst of family members, expectations and life-changing events. With this mix of emotions and dirty sexy times Lorelei James pulls me in every single time. So while at first I was afraid I wasn't going to like this one as much as the previous books, in the end I was wrong because I really loved Rory and Dalton's story!Fave Quotes:“I’ve all sorts of plans for you, Aurora.
