review 1: I loved this. Great premise turning into a great story (so many of them don't!) with stacks of ambiance and a satisfying ending. What more could you want? It made me want to go and visit Tasmania. It kept me away from my own writing two mornings in a row. And even though I guessed some of it, it didn't matter. I don't have time to write more because now I really do have to get back to my own book, but I really enjoyed this. Will definitely look for more from this author.
review 2: I won this from goodreads, Once I started reading the book I did not want to put it down, wanted to see how Eva would end up in the story. It starts out with Eva and Jackson, her husband of 8 months went up to visit her mother for her birthday and were staying in a cabin by the o
... morecean one morning Jackson went out fishing early on the jetty and the waves were really bad some how he fell into the ocean and a couple walking on the beach saw him and reported him to the coast guard. In the meanwhile Eva wakes up realizes Jackson is not there but she knew he was fishing -- went to see what all the commotion was about outside and then she realizes her husband Jackson was the one who was sweep away with a wave and they (Coast Guard) were trying to find him. They never did find his body and declared him dead. After his memorial service Eva could not stay in their apartment she had to get away so she decided to go visit Jackson home town where he grew up, Tamania, Australia to try and piece hers and Jackson's short life together. She meets his father Dirk (who for some reason doesn't want her visiting)and brother Saul for the first time but she knows something is missing and all the things Jackson has told her about his life is all lies, he was telling her his brothers life history not his. The turn of events in the story is unbelievable kept me guessing after each chapter as to what will happen next. Eva stayed on the island for a while longer trying to piece all the puzzles together about Jackson life before they met on the plane that day for the first time. While EVa stay on the island longer, Saul starts to fall in love with Eva. I don't want to say anything else to give anything away from the story but its worth reading and I'm going to check out her other books. less

A surprising good read. Made me think what I would do if everything about my husband was a lie.

Love, betrayal, lies, heartbreak and a dash of mystery but all a bit too predictable for me.
