review 1: 3,5/5As in the first book of the series, I really liked the world-building, and the mixing between historical and fantasy is really pleasant. I liked how the heroine overcame her deafness, and how the members of the clan accepted it once they knew. I understood the hero reaction, but I would have yelled at him because he was hiding his true self too but I wasn't alone while I was reading LOL. I just found the problems with the housekeeper and the old man were resolved too fast.
review 2: I rarely bother leaving a review beyond a star rating on any book. Hopefully I can save someone a precious few hours of their life by making an exception for Moon Craving.So much telling without much showing. I wanted to hear what the characters were thinking and feeling and in... morestead I was just told...rather blandly at that.Halfway through the book I started only reading every 5th page and didn't miss any of the overall plot. Still caught plenty of typos such as "sewing discord" instead of "sowing discord." Also I'm pretty sure no one used the word "okay" in medieval times. And what's with the homosexual secondary romance? It seems like the author just threw it in there to sound progressive and open-minded as it added nothing to the story.A romance can be poorly written and I'll still give it a 4-5 star rating as long as it gives me a warm fuzzy. This book had all the makings of a warm fuzzy for me (virgin hero, disabled lead, paranormal element) but fell flatter than flat. less
