review 1: Keata was kidnapped (along with his cousin) off the streets to be sold into slavery. He, his cousin and other kidnapped men were rescued in an earlier book. I was a bit 'meh' about both men originally but both are growing on me each time I am introduced to them in another book.I have loved the character of Cody since the first time I met him in this series, after getting his heart broken in an earlier book I was glad to see him get his own book. His character alone was reason enough for me to read this instalment.I found Keata and Johnny's friendship amusing to read about, enjoying those scenes just as much as those devoted to the love story being told. One thing I hope to end in future books is the great mate escape which seems to happen at least once every book. The first... more two or three times was funny but it happening every book is a bit repetitive to me.
review 2: When Keata Kota is taken in by wolves after being kidnapped from his native country of Japan, he finds that he along with his cousin Kyoshi both have mates in the pack. Contrary to his cousin's smooth sailing relationship, Keata finds his mate has refused to claim him for unknown reasons. When Keata confides in Tank and tells him that Cody is the one who makes butterflies flutter in his stomach, Tank decides to put a plan into action to get Cody to finally step up and claim his mate. In this new instalment we finally get a resolution on Cody and Jasper's relationships, we are introduced to the new fangy neighbours in town and Keata gets his HEA. We also get a revelation on Keata's family, which I thought was great. I loved that Keata was so damn stubborn. He had a lot of respect for himself and didn't just give in to Cody when he finally decided enough was enough and wanted to claim him. He made him fight for it and his phrases in broken English were too funny. The pranks he and Johnny played on everyone - and I mean everyone! - were cute and hilarious in equal measure. My only issue was that we never actually got to see Tank and Loco pushing Cody by making him jealous of extra attention coming his mate's way, which was a shame. Cody sure deserved it and it would have been fun to see him sweat a little. Cody was a darling and a great mate to Keata and as much as I loved him with Jasper, Keata was his other half and they belonged together. His adoration for Keata was obvious. Even though I'd only been waiting one week for this book, it felt like much longer. Now to wait another week... less
