review 1: typical lynn hagen serial romance. nothing fantastic, nothing so bad it can't be finished. what is typical lynn hagen? imagine a shorter harlequin romance but with no t&a (see, i was going to write no surprise pregnancies, but... yeah.). out of sheer laziness, i will be using this as my template for all books by :lynn hagenstormy glennscarlett hyacinthcarol lynnegabrielle evansunless otherwise noted. i'd apologize, but i'm not sorry. i figure it's about as much time as they put into their books. dammit! well, i made it all the way to the end being rather moderate in my assessment. that's a win.
review 2: This was the first book I really liked in the series. It was good to finally see a warrior that offers himself and not his protection and to see a mate that i
... mores a man and not an overgrown boy. George doesn't need Tank to take care of him and loves him for whom Tank is. In this regard their relationship is the most believable so far, and the most adult.Unlike with the others it was actually clear where an attraction came from and Tank was actually sweet and not so creepy and possessive as many other warriors. Yeah he is a big galoot but better that then being such insecure, possessive and violent bastards that so many others of the wolves are. In his case it is actually forgivable that he didn't consider bottoming on his own accord since he probably never thought that way, but to be honest, had the thought disgusted him, he wouldn't have said yes so quickly and probably wouldn't have enjoyed it so much. And what is this "in the closet" stuff? Just because George doesn't parade it around? That is the outcome of a broken heart, normally people retreat from the world for a while after that. So it is stupid to refer to that as not being out. Unlike the other mates so far (and many afterwards) George didn't really had any special issues, nothing that any normal person didn't also go through so (as in the following books) lumping him together with all the mates that had serious problems is not right. And the "flirting" of Keata to Tank and Cody's reaction to it just proves to me that Cody sees Keata as something passive because it was clear that Keata "flirted" and not Tank. In addition Cody and Hawk are clearly not protective, they are possessive and insecure. In the real world that is the best recipe for an abusive relationship but in this world it is seemingly romantic. less
