review 1: I confess I just read this book for the second time--or was it the third? This was my first Madelyn Hunter book, as well as the first book in a quartet. All of the four heroines are introduced, and though the book stands alone, there are hints and foreshadowing of events in the three books that follow. Hunter is fantastic at giving us romance rooted in great conflict. In Ravishing in Red, it seems impossible that Audrianna and Sebastian's relationship will go deeper than their sexual attraction, but it does. This is not the usual ball room romp, but an intense, emotional story of two individuals at cross purposes defending their family honor.
review 2: This was my second time reading this book and I enjoyed it as much as I did the first time. I did think that
... moreAudrianna was a little too forgiving and accepting of whar life had handed her in the last two years. People have feelings of anger, hate, self-doubt, and depression in everyday life. She seemed to have these feeling occasionally but kept them to herself. The relationship and the disparity between the four women is very interesting. I just wish I didn't have to wait 4 books to remember the backstory. I enjoy Madeline Hunter's books and try to read them as soon as I get. As I said I'm on my second go round with these four. less
