review 1: I've recent had to ask myself - why do I like reading these werwolf stories so...it's entirely too much um.."intimate" contact for a ridiculously sexual conservative (i.e. repressed, prude - owww, please put that in a towel!) person like myself. However, I think it might have something to do with the fact that my earliest reading experiences were those involving lots of "bodice ripping" Alpha male type characters. Although my taste in reading has grown beyond the aforementioned (because I still think Beatrice Small, Judith McNaught, Virginia Henley, Johanna Lindsay and Rosemary Rogers are the foremost elite of those authors), I still love an HEA. Shooting, fighting, bititing, cussing, and attempted walk aways are all fine and dandy, exhilerating even, as long as I get ... moremy HEA fix every now and then. That is EXACTLY why I love these stories so.Add Jinx to the list - while I would have enjoyed a little more character development - it gave me all I needed at the time. I would recommend it almost as that "Chick Lit" that one needs to lighten up the dark (good dark of course) after reading some of the hard core UF/Paranormal writers, i.e. Lilith S, Richard K, Jenna Black (sometime), Lynn V, and many more but lets not ever forget who many think of as the pioneering authority - Anne Rice.Shalisha
review 2: This book is one of my favorites because it has a lot of the things I like in books humor, romance, werewolves, and paranormal abilities. I really liked the town of "Strange Hollow" where everyone had their own unique abilities and pasts. I only wish it was real because it would definetely be a fun place to visit. Thora had somewhat of a tough exterior, but she really was a kind person. Having the curse for so long took its toll and I was happy that she was able to find a place where she fit in. Daker was an awesome hero whose wolf had a very strange personality for an alpha. His wolf made him that more interesting though and I loved how playful he was. Daker himself was a very dependable and strong character yet very sweet that you just can't help, but love him. I highly recommend this loveable and unique tale about a "Jinx And Her Werewolf" by Marisa Chenery. less
