review 2: ***before we read the book*** I was looking for a christmas themed beginning reader to try to get my son a little more interested in books. He has autism and likes reading, but he always chooses picture books with very few words, and part of this is the autism... more and part of this is that he is comfortable reading those types of books because they are in his comfort zone. I picked this book up along with the companion, hoping we can expand his horizons.***after we read the book*** We and when i say we I mean I read this book over the Christmas break to my son, and he loved it! I even found him flipping the pages, asking questions, and wanting to hear more about this book. This book and its story was appropriate for us and he enjoyed it very much. The writing style was ....of course juvenile, but that is ok, because that's who this book was for. He has told me he wants to read more of these books so in my mind this was a win - win situation. less
