review 1: Not my favorite. I loved Chris and Doug and Phil. But Sable was your typical suave, rich, all-powerful supernatural creature and so he was boring.The structure sucked. Alternating case studies and timelines ruined it and robbed each story of its tension. Plus it was confusing.I do like how she separates this and "Dance in the Dark" into case studies, though. Because Megan Derr excels at short stories and is not great at novels. So breaking a novel into case studies makes it the best of both worlds.
review 2: I love this book/series. I ended up reading this series back to front so I already kind of knew who was going to get together. There has been some reviews that said the structure detracted from the story but in my opinion I thought it worked really well and... more added to the story brilliantly. My only issue was that I got to the end if the book and wanted MORE!!!! (In a good way - not because anything was lacking) less
