review 1: 3.5 starsIn The 51st Thursday, Mary Celeste tells us the story of how Joe Deacon and Shelby Bainbridge meet. Deacon is the owner of Deacon’s place, a nice pub where a number of loyal customers meet for a drink and a chat. Deacon doesn’t get too involved with his customers, with one exception, the man he calls Thursday, because that’s the day he has been coming during 50 weeks. Deacon is intrigued by the young man, who has been deeply wounded both physically and emotionally. On the 51st night, a dangerous hurricane traps Thursday, whose real name is Shelby, in the pub with Deacon. With no chance of running away from the hurricane or his hidden desires, these two sexy and stubborn men give in to their passion. But the night of hot sex they share threatens to be more da... morengerous for them than the storm raging outside… Will they survive it?Albeit short, this story manages to keep the interest and define the personalities of both Deacon and Shelby quite well. They are attractive and likeable, and the night they share is really hot. I enjoyed the sex scenes a lot. But I would have liked a bit more development of the background events. Their stories are hinted but not fully disclosed, and I would have loved to know more about them. And about their lives afterwards. But that would require more pages, and would turn the book into a whole novel. So I guess I am satisfied with what I got. I good short and sexy short story about how two troubled men fall for each other. Very enjoyable.
less

Désolée mais je n'ai pas du tout accroché ni à l'histoire, ni aux personnages.
