review 1: Sadly, not enough time was spent on the mystery aspect of this book to make it as intriguing as it could have been. The aspects of Mormon life depicted are interesting, but perhaps a little too detailed in relation to the rest of the story. With many characters, no one (including the main character) gets much development. The idea for the story is strong, and I think the author is a strong writer with great potential. review 2: This Mormon murder mystery explores the relationship between faith, friendship and judgment within the context of a contemporary Latter-Day Saint community in Draper, Utah. I liked this story. It included many current issues in the LDS community while illustrating the point that each person’s belief... mores and actions stem from their personal cultural context and experiences. While Harrison seems to struggle to find a balance early on with how much “Mormon culture” to explain to a potentially non-LDS audience, she hits her stride and creates an accessible and satisfying story. less
