review 1: Warning, I was up half the night reading this. I am not good at tolerating suspense, just putting the book down and walking away (or as more typically the case, turning the light off). In this one the evil twins catch up with the chased good guys fairly early on in the book, and it is clear that the chase is going to last quite a while and will probably involve a number of innocent people. Quite engrossing but start it early in the day.
review 2: I wasn't as crazy about this book as I expected to be after reading the first few chapters. It was interesting, for sure - all of the fire and survival details throughout - but the Jace's story didn't interest me. The whole time I was wondering about the events that unfolded in the first chapter and if it would be ... moreresolved, and while it was, it was in passing. I also surmised that something was fishy about Jace's placement in the mountains early on. A quick read with interesting character back stories, though. less
