review 1: There are two settings for this story. One is a care hospital for people who cannot live or even exist on their own. The other is Costa Rica where a family owns a vacation retreat where its members can dive and do other water sports. This is where one family member met with an accident--or did he? There is one man imprisoned by his body in the care facility, and his tale will be told. A nurse from there, and a young law student struggle to find the solution to the puzzle.
review 2: This was my first time reading anything by this author. It was suspensful and kept you wondering where this plot was headed. One of the main characters is completely paralyzed and believed to be in a vegetative state. As he tries to make contact with the world many obstacles are
... more thrown into his path. It is written so well that I actually felt his anxiety and felt his despair when he experienced setbacks. The ending came a little fast for me and seemed to be pretty anti-climatic. However, I thought it was an excellent read and will look for more from Mr. Wallace. less
