review 1: When I began reading this book I found it to be too rushed into the plot. Right away Lia talked about the mark on her hand and everything seemed to happen a bit too quickly. Going in more, the storyline became more “slow” and everything was explained in more detail that I was able to comprehend a bit more. The main character was Lia. Her twin sister is Alice. Both of them are in this prophecy where you can either choose the good side of the bad side. Thus, Lia is the “hero” to be character and Alice is the “evil” twin. Both have different views on how to end the prophecy. Then there are others characters to appear as well.Sonia was introduced where they went at a sitting and I feel that her character changed a lot. At first she seemed to be more of a serious, ... morewise, and non-social person, but then she turned into and innocent, scared, still wise girl. Luisa mostly stayed the same throughout as well as Henry and Aunt Virginia. Now to begin what I thought overall of the book was that it was interesting. There are many books that have the evil and good sister, but I liked this one because one was trying to lure the other one to side with her. They did things to each other and even sacrificed many beloved things. They worked separately apart and prevented each other from continuing and advancing forward to end the prophecy. I particularly liked Alice, but not only because she was the evil one. She gave up everything she had, even some lives just to achieve her purpose. Even though I still don’t understand why she chose that road I find it astonishing how she didn’t care about anyone or anything but her goal. Which makes her so different from Alice, who doesn’t want the prophecy to continue, who chose her path in order to protect the ones that she dearly loved. I also think that the book went quick at the beginning then slow paced till the very end. No action had occurred except for talking, walks, dreams, and more talking basically. Yes, the story was interesting because of the plot, but how it was written I wished it could be more exciting. Especially the interferences with Alice and Lia, and I would have liked to also know more about the other worlds too. In the end, I enjoyed reading this book and would read the next book for the purpose to find out what happens next.
review 2: This was a random read, I knew very little of the story and hadn't seen any reviews so I was happy to find out for myself if the book was interesting.The sisterly rivalry is something 'new' to the fantasy genre and I am most glad this is not a story based on forbidden love or a so called love triangle, which never truly is a triangle, but this is a topic for another day.It was beautifully written and an easy and enjoyable read.3.5 stars less
