review 1: The naming of the Beasts wasn't so much a mystery like the other Felix books, the big bad was set up at the end of the 4th book and we knew what was coming. The book was about Felix trying to free Rafi, and not get killed by Asmodeus. There were some really hard to read parts as Juliet started beating up her wife and there were all kinds issues around domestic violence that were much more disturbing than the demons. There were quite a lot of nice resolutions to the series, but I do hope that Carey writes some more.
review 2: The series has been building to this book and it's been totally worth it. Each book in the series was a page turner and dealt out precious new info about the supernatural world of freelance exorcist Felix Castor. But the thread that's bee
... moren a subplot in each of the previous installments finally takes the foreground for an entire book and makes you realize Carey has been playing the long game all along. In the process he's built a fantastic crew of supporting characters, and the stakes for this surprisingly wily band of spiritual warriors could not be higher. Hard to believe there's another book planned after this one. less

I haven't enjoyed a series like I did this one, for quite some time. What a great ride. :-)
