review 1: Imagine it is crunch time in a big game and you’re down to the final seconds. You have this adrenaline running through your veins. You have the ball in your hands and you want to make the big play. This is one of the best feelings for athletes. After reading Game Changers, you feel that adrenaline in your body.If you engage yourself in this book, you will find yourself in the end zone when you’re finished. Basically what I’m saying is once you start reading you will not stop. I play three sports so I love reading about stories that involve anything related to sports. In the story, Game Changers, Mike Lupica does a good job making it feel like you are right there playing the game! The book starts out with Ben McBain, an all-star football player, wanting to play quarte... morerback for the Rockwell Rams. The only thing standing in his way is Shawn O’Brien, the coach’s son. Through the first half of the book Ben tries to be a friend to Shawn and help him and his team out. After they start 0-2 on the season, Ben is stuck between being a teammate and going after his dream. When Ben gets the chance something unexpected happens and the game changes. This book is about true friendship and adversity. Ben, Sam, Coop, and Lily are the “core four” and they learn in the end friendship is key and be a friend to Shawn. I recommend this heart-felt story.
review 2: Game Changers, by Mike Lupica, is a great book for people that love Football.Ben McBain is a boy that loves playing QB. But when he tried out for QB with his team, his coach won't put Ben in the starting QB position. Instead the coach puts his own son to play, even though everyone on his team thinks that Ben should play QB. Finally their first game of the season starts. Brian, the QB and the coach's son, throws many great passes to give them the lead in the first three quarters. In the fourth quarter, the opposite team takes the lead. For the last play of the game, to win, Brian has to throw the ball to Ben. But when he threw the ball it was a mistake, because it ended up to be a pick six.In the second game, for the win, Brian, again has to throw the ball to Ben. But this time it was a terrible pass to Ben and he drops the ball. Brian could barely complete a throw that game. Will Ben finally get his start as QB because Brian isn't playing his best football? less
